Hono Elizalde will start to give you the right directions to achieve great success at Lake El Salto and there are three useful facts you must keep in mind:
1.- Hono suggests Definite, Bait Casting, never use a Braid Line when you fish at Lake El Salto. The 17Lb. Test monofilament, the mono have some memory, yes is truth, but fluorocarbon worst & expensive.
2.- Hono References.- As I explained before, the rod is the key to catch those trophies; a good rod will help you to control the fish all the way to your boat, even if it goes to the trees, just with the right move in your rod you will have plenty control.
3.- Hono best: You need to buy, just what you need. Do not buy too much stuff, because there is always something new in the market and it is a fact, next season a new reel with new techniques will show up; talking about new techniques, I like to introduce the new Serrano reel and the good news is that it can work in Saltwater as well.

It is true, this kind of line is so strong that you can get the fish out of the trees, but the game we play is catch the big fish all the time, & the braid line do no work like that, as soon you get a fish over 3 LB, you need to cast to the other side to clean the spool, because, if you do not do that you have a big problem, the line is stacked in the spool, and you will lose the lure at the time you try to cast, because this is snapped. The other way to fish is getting a fluorocarbon leader, also you have a fish like 4 pounds, the leader comes off, so I do not – you do not - like that. My guides will push you to switch to a mono because the fish is able to watch the line and you do not catch the fish.

1.-1- Excel® Braid Fishing Line.- Spinning Pros, or if your favorite way to fish is spinning Gear, this braid is the one you need to use, long cast, strong to hold the big mamas and help you to drive the Lake El Salto Trophies to your boat.
The minimum and maximum is 30 Lb. smaller of this could work but you lose the hook or lose the lures, and biggers are too hard to cast.

Hono References, as you know I fish more than 10 months a year, all the time are different fishermen using the same reel, really few reels can work that longer, well this one has everything to do that. As you read before the Okuma company features high performance on its products.

As you are aware of it is not just once a year as sometimes it is 2 to 3 a day, so the reel must be able to support this kind of action. And numbers as high as 30 to 80 fish a day; needless to say all he systems must be a good stuff, with this reel you can use as top water to those reel hard damage crank bait fat free deep divers.
