During latest five years we have found excellent fishing action during Peak Season, which are the months of October, November, December, January, February, March & April. However, El Salto is such a great spot for wonderful Bass Fishing year round and we have witnessed extremely Hot Fishing action from May through September.
By saying Hot I am not referring to the weather, but for the fishing.

Catches of over 30 to 80 Bass per day are very common and double-digit Bass have become commonplace.
Some fishermen are able to count at least 5 trophies or the biggest fish per day (From 45 to 73 Pounds) sometimes it is hard not to count the others 40 or 50 Bass caught in the range of 3 to 8 Pounds.

Well, for those whom want to break all records, you can start counting all your fish that is caught and released, all fish will be recorded and you will be able to break a few records with us; these are some of them:

Fly commercial arlines into Mazatlan, Mexico or perhaps in your private plane. The name of the airport is Rafael Buelna and the airport code is MZT.
The airlines serving Mazatlan are Alaska Airlines, U.S. Airways, Continental, Mexicana and Aeromexico. You will meet our representative at the airport and he will drive you straight to the Bass El Salto Lodge.

Common Itinerary for Lake El Salto Fishermen:
Day 1: Mzt, Mx. Arrival. Airport reception- transfers to lodge, Welcome & briefing during dinner.
Day 2 to 4: Early Breakfast. Fish On for awesome 10 hours at Lake El Salto.
Day 5: Return transfer to Mazatlan airport to catch your flight back home. Share your trip with others. Brag with family and friends showing your pics.

WEATHER AT LAKE EL SALTO:
This is very pleasant during Summer, as we are minutes away from the Tropic of Cancer. Nice evenings, perfect mornings and sunny days, with an average of 80° - 90° F. The hard time is from 8am to 10:30am, after 11:00am the fresh breeze from the ocean help to cool the air. The ocean is only minutes away from El Salto.
We strongly recommend a proper hydration to fish comfortably. For our Guides a temperature of 78° F is freezing, but for you northern visitors, this is hot ! So, hydration is a key to succeed at El Salto, otherwise the fish will take advantage of this.
Take a light jacket or wind-breaker with you during summer or winter, just in case. The clothing we recommend to wear are shorts, t-shirts, cotton jeans and your favorite outfit when you come back as a Rock Star of Bass Fishing to brag with your friends and family showing your trophy pics.
